Week 3 Famous Last Words

This week I loved reading the reading units. I really enjoyed reading about the saints and I didn't really want to stop. I also think I wrote a little bit better this week. I tried using dialogue and I think came up with a clever idea of trying to get my story across. I definitely need improvement but this is definitely a start. I also wrote papers in some of my other classes, but I never have to be as imaginative as this class. I need to become focused though, I feel like I have been slacking these last couple of weeks and that usually isn't my style! I need to get back into a groove like I usually am! I also have learned a lot by reading others storytelling. They are helping me think of new ways to tell stories and present them in a whole new style. This weekend I took some time just to relax and breathe some fresh air. I went on a road trip with some friends and really thought about what I want to do with the free time in my life. We went hiking at Alabaster Caverns and walked in a field full of windmills. It was really crazy to see how big they are once when you get close to them! It was mesmerizing and reminded me that I am still very small. It reminded me that I am bound for great things and I need to strive for those moments in life. I want to take advantage of each day and not waste my time! I really like this class in the fact that it is making me realize what is important in life and letting me reflect on how I am spending my time. In a way I am learning more about myself taking this class, and it is a great feeling!

  1. Hey Claire! This is a good post.. I definitely am with you on the whole slacking deal. I am taking 3 online classes and they are definitely easy to put off to the side and wait till the last minute to do thing and then that creates a lot of stress as you are trying to cram everything and get everything done in a short period of time. I have also learned a lot from other people's writing. I have found that's the best way to learn in this class in my opinion is looking at the way people write and the different styles you can adopt simply by reading other posts. Have a great weekend!

  2. This is a great post of inspiration. Many people have problems with slacking and staying on top of things. I know I definitely do. It really is a great feeling to actually be on top of things and finish assignments early, unfortunately this is something that I rarely feel since I am a procrastinator. I will try to stay more on top of things, like you do.

  3. Hey Claire! I agree with you… I don’t get to use my imagination near as much in my writing for my other classes as I do in this one. It’s very refreshing to use a different part of my brain! I also learn a lot from reading other students storytelling assignments in class. It helps me to think of things in a different way and see other people’s perspectives!
