Week 3 Learning Challenges: Happiness

Alabaster Caverns

This week I decided to do the challenge of just being happy and taking advantage of the life I have. I think I have just been so stressed out lately with trying to figure out my future that I am forgetting to live in the present. To be happy this weekend I went on a road trip! Here I go again with my adventures. A couple of friends and I drove out to Alabaster Caverns and enjoyed a day of hiking. It was great to get out into the fresh air and not think a whole lot about anything! On the way back we even stopped and walked in a field full of the energy windmills. I had never been so close to one in my life and man are they majestic! It was so relaxing just taking the day for myself and enjoying being happy. I'm going to try to find times of the day for just myself and take advantage of those times.

  1. Ooh, I've never been to the Alabaster caverns! I enjoy camping, haven't been in about a year. I think it would be a lot of fun, and it would help me distress during the school year.
In general, going on trips with friends is just a great way to be happy. It sounds like something that is very healthy for people to do.

  2. I love how you noticed that you seemed stressed out and consciously decided to snap yourself out of it and go on an adventure with friends! I find myself getting way too wrapped up in planning for my future as well and I need to live in the present more! I’ve never heard of the Alabaster Caverns before but the picture you posted looks cool! Are they in Oklahoma?

  3. Thats nice you got to get out and go on an adventure. I have never heard of Alabaster caverns, I will have to check it out. I am really into hiking. I am also from Idaho and we have a lot of windmills around where I live. They are giant!

It is always nice to jut stop and enjoy life! I know what it is like to be really stressed everyday with school and work and homework.

  4. Good for you Claire, it sounds like that was a great little trip! I often need to remember this as well, to just step back and remember to be happy. I’m sure that was really neat to be so close to those windmills, I will have to do that sometime. This reminded me of a real personal blog post or journal, so that is great that you were able to write down how you were feeling, it can really help.
